Mothers Day Flowers in the Shape of Little Ones' Hands

Mothers Day flowers do not have to be really expensive, really big or even very fussy. In fact flowers for mothers don't even have to be real! Artificial flowers can be just as nice. Children like to present their mothers with special Mothers Day gifts and flowers often top the list. However, little ones are a little short on financial funds so what are they to do? The answer is to think like a mommy and create his or her own. Hand shaped flowers are a craft project that is very simple to do and does not require a lot of supplies. Older children could do this Mothers Day craft of flowers on their own while younger ones would require some help. Let's see what this project entails.

Who could resist a gift of a lovely Mothers Day flower? Not many moms that's who! For this craft, the child should trace his or her hand onto a piece of paper and then carefully cut the handprint out. Then take a small photo of the child and glue it to the center of the handprint. Next you will need a Popsicle stick and for another part of your mom's flower, paint (or color with crayons or markers) the stick green, for the stem of the flower. Allow the stick to completely dry and then affix (either by gluing, taping or stapling) the hand shaped flower onto the Popsicle stick.

So now you have it, a beautiful hand shaped flower to give to your mommy to show her how much you love her on Mothers Day! It's best to use construction paper for this craft (it's sturdier than regular paper) and your best bet is to use red or pink for the flower. To further enhance the appeal of your Mothers Day present for your much deserving mom, decorate a Styrofoam cup however you think your mommy would like it, and then put a tiny speck of Playdoh in the bottom of the cup. Press the Popsicle stick into the bottom of your Mothers Day cup and now the flowers for your mom have somewhere to stand and look fantastic!
